VON is a National not-for-profit health care organization and registered charity. Since its inception in 1897, VON has been committed to caring for individuals through an expanding assortment of health and community support programs. VON Hastings, Northumberland, and Prince Edward has been in operation in the Quinte area since 1917 and is staffed by over 600 staff and volunteers, who oversee the operation of approximately 30 programs and services.
VON Hastings, Northumberland, and Prince Edward serves thousands of clients providing services that help clients remain at home, remain active and independent and remain a part of their communities.
VON, a charity guided by the principles of primary health care, works in partnership with Canadians for a healthier society through:
1. Leadership in community-based care.
2. Delivery of innovative, comprehensive health and social services.
3. Influence in the development of health and social policy.
