SATS opened doors in 2001 and became a society and a charity in 2002. We recruit, screen, support and schedule volunteer drivers to support elderly in our Edmonton region through the organization of this giving of time by these Driving Angels for their appointments. Our mission is to assist seniors, as identified in our target audiences, in maintaining their independence and quality of life by staying engaged in the community for as long as practical through the assistance of volunteers helping them to participate in essential appointments, key services and social engagements.

SATS also receives funds form Realtors Community Foundation Edmonton, Robert Tegler Trust, Jasper Place Lions Club, Rotary club Gateway, and Union 52. In 2011 personal donations helped the elders with $33, 893.00 of support. But the elders individually need help with angels to help them cover SATS membership and gas costs for a volunteer given ride!
